Join GCC for an unusually low tide beach walk at Gaviota State Park. The -1.8 tide will allow us to make this trek further west than normal.

Meet us at 1:30 PM sharp on the beach near the pier end of the trestle. We will walk toward Hollister Ranch until 3:00 PM, when the king tide is at its lowest, and we will turn around to arrive back by 4:30 PM. This stretch of the beach is not ordinarily accessible and we do not want to get trapped with the incoming tide. It’s important that we leave on time.

Bring water and snacks as well as good walking shoes. We don’t know if there will be any rocky spots to navigate but we will watch out for each other. We do not invite pets on group hikes. This is sensitive beach habitat

Unless you park outside the park, there will be a $10 day use fee for parking. There is no charge if you walk or bike in.

Enjoy the holidays on Gaviota!
